WHO WE ARE
About Honey & Heat Kitchen
Honey & Heat Kitchen is the editorial team behind Hot Honey, a recipe site devoted to cooking with sweet heat.
Who we are
We are a small, independent home-cooking team. We write, develop, and publish every recipe and article on hothoney.blog under the shared name Honey & Heat Kitchen. We are not a medical, nutrition, or food-science authority, and we don’t present ourselves as one.
How recipes are developed and tested
- Each recipe starts from standard, widely used cooking methods (roasting, glazing, low-heat infusing) adapted for hot honey.
- We write ingredients in US measurements with oven temperatures in °F and °C, and give prep, cook, and rest times as estimates.
- Doneness is always defined by safe internal temperatures from official guidance, not by time alone.
- When a recipe is changed after reader feedback or retesting, we update it and change its “Last updated” date.
How we choose sources
For food safety, storage, and health statements we rely on primary public sources such as USDA FSIS, FoodSafety.gov, the CDC, and the FDA. Blog posts list their sources at the end. We don’t cite unverified claims, and we don’t invent shelf-life figures for homemade infusions. Read the full editorial policy.
Photos
Many recipe and article photos are AI-generated illustrations and are labeled “Illustrative image”. They show the style of the dish, not a photo of a specific test batch.
Corrections
If you spot an error, an unclear step, or an outdated safety note, tell us. We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly, and update the page’s “Last updated” date. Substantive safety corrections are noted on the page.
How we make money
Some links go to Amazon, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. This never decides what goes into a recipe. See our affiliate disclosure.
